ERGO Optical from BioSemi allows for connecting analog signals from mains-driven devices to the ERGO input in the ActiveTwo (BioSemi). 5m optical fiber included. Available with 1- or 2-channel inputs.

The ERGO Optical allows for connecting analog signal sources to the ERGO input on the ActiveTwo from BioSemi. Mains-driven external signal sources - for instance, a microphone or audio output from a laptop - require isolation from the ActiveTwo AD-box. To ensure isolation, connect such a mains-driven device to the Optical. The Optical isolates the mains-driven devices and sends the analog signal through a 5-meter optical fiber to the ActiveTwo EEG system. The analog signal is then recorded by the ActiveTwo in full synchrony with the EEG and other EXG data.

The ERGO Optical can be used alternatively to the AIB; where fewer channels are needed (1 or 2 channels), or where high sample rates (> 2kHz) are required (a system with an AIB only runs on Speed mode 4 @ 2kHz sampling rate). An ActiveTwo with an ERGO Optical can sample up to 16 kHz.

ERGO Optical is available with either 1- or 2-channel inputs.

The optical transmitter (connected to the mains-powered signal source) is powered by a power adapter (included). The optical receiver (connected to the ActiveTwo AD-box) is powered by the AD-box.

Note: The ActiveTwo requires an ERGO input for proper connection of the ERGO Optical.

System Features

  • ERGO Optical allows for connecting 1- or 2-channel of mains-driven analog signal sources.
  • Can sample analog signals up to 16kHz (set speed mode accordingly).
  • Ensures galvanic isolation preventing unwanted electrical noise artefacts and subject safety.
