LED-based Photic Stimulator for visual stimulation during EEG studies. It combines the brightness of a Xenon flash with the utility and ease of use of an LED device. Package includes: Photic Stimulator (LED), cables, clamp, and control software.

This Photic Stimulator is an LED-based visual flash stimulator for EEG studies. This LED Photic Stimulator combines the brightness of a Xenon flash with the ease of use of an LED device. It is smaller, more lightweight, and more energy-efficient compared to other photic stimulators currently on the market by utilizing state-of-the-art LED technology.

This Photic Stimulator generates no heat and is, therefore, safer than other traditional photic stimulators. The silent LED technology doesn’t create a noise artifact and is less distracting to the researcher, technologist, physician, and patient. The unit can be easily attached to tables, medical mounts, or arms for convenient control.

The Photic Stimulator is controlled through software that is included in the photic stimulator package. It is a USB-driven device and hence there's no need for any additional power supplies, making it easy to setup and portable too.

The Photic Stimulator comes as a package which includes:

  • Photic Stimulator (LED-based flash)
  • USB connection cable for power and control
  • Photic Arm + Clamp
  • Control software to control the photic stimulator from a computer

It is compatible with a wide range of EEG and other physiology measurement systems. To send latency-free trigger markers to such devices, please select the appropriate interface cable. The photic stimulator can also be used as a standalone device without send triggers to an external device (select Generic - No Trigger).

Additional color filter packs and trigger cables are available upon request (Contact Us).

Features

  • Small, light and self-contained (only 1 box). This makes it very much easier to mount the unit on an arm for easy positioning
  • Efficient. Due to the inherent efficiency of modern LEDs, the unit can utilise low-voltage DC as a power source
  • No heat. Due to the efficiency, little internal heat is generated. This allows the unit to operate continuously and without the use of a fan.
  • No noise. This has very significant physiological advantages in that there is no noise-induced artefact in the EEG.
  • No Safety Hazards. No heat and low power consumption mean much simpler regulatory approval.
