Gas Sampling Interface Tube Kit

This Gas Sampling Interface Tube Kit (AFT20) is used for connecting an airflow face mask (AFT25) or airflow T-valve (AFT21/AFT22) with a variety of airflow breathing circuits (e.g., O2/CO2 measurement device, mixing chamber, or pneumotach transducer). It can be used inside an MRI environment and is classified as MR Safe.

The Gas Sampling Interface Tube Kit includes:

• One semi-flexible PE tube, 180cm in length, 1.5mm inner diameter (ID), equipped with one female Luer and one male Luer connector
• One Nafion® water vapor permeable tube, 30cm in length, equipped with one male Luer and one female Luer connector
• One hydrophobic filter, 0.45 Micron, equipped with one male Luer and one female Luer connector
• Y-connector providing two sampling outputs (typically for O2 and CO2), comes with one female Luer and splits into two male Luer connectors

Technical Specifications

• Kit includes: two tubes (180cm + 30cm), one filter, and a female Luer Y-connector
• Delay: 2.5 seconds (based on 1.5 mm ID tubing at 180cm and assuming 100 ml/min module gas sampling flow rate; this also accounts for the 0.6 seconds added by internal module tubing and 30 cm of Nafion® tube)

  • Y-connector: Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) polycarbonate
  • Filter: Acrylic, PTFE

Application Note

The Nafion® tube should be replaced when the tube becomes discolored.

The Hydrophobic Filter (17 mm, 0.45 Micron) provides roughly 30 days of steady use.
