Triple Thermocouple V1 is a single-channel, reusable, nasal-oral thermocouple sensor to measure airflow. It is compatible with most biosignal acquisition systems with DIN 1.5mm touch-proof (TP) sockets. One Triple Thermocouple V1 per pack.
This Triple Thermocouple V1 by Compumedics Ltd. is a thermistor-based sensor for measuring airflow activity from the nose and mouth of a subject. All three thermistors are coupled together to output a single voltage differential channel. It is non-sterile and reusable after proper disinfection.
Triple Thermocouple V1 comes preassembled to a 200cm connector cable which terminates in two DIN 1.5mm touch-proof (TP) sockets (female connector). Thermocouple airflow sensors are intended for use during physiologic data recording including polysomnography (PSG) to detect respiratory changes. The thermocouple can be used with a wide range of biosignal recording systems that have AC-coupled sensor inputs. It is commonly used with the Grael and E-Series systems from Compumedics Ltd. No additional power source (such as a battery) is needed to operate the Triple Thermocouple V1.
One Triple Thermocouple V1 per pack.
Technical Specifications
- Sensor Type: Thermistor
- Cable Length: 200cm
- Connectors: DIN 1.5mm touch-proof (TP) sockets (female connector)
- Latex Free: Yes
- Packaging: 1 x Triple Thermocouple V1 per pack
Application Note
- Place the Triple Thermocouple V1 (Airflow Sensor) on the subject's upper lip so that the three thermocouple beads are exposed to the subject's nasal and oral airflow. Ensure that none of the thermocouple sensor beads touches the skin as this will attenuate the signal.
- Position the lead wires over the ears, and then under the enin as snowil.
- Loosely secure leads with plastic slider under the chin.
- Apply two strips of tape as shown to secure the sensor in place.
- Plug lead into the biosignal acquisition system: red to positive; white to negative.
Triple Thermocouple V1 requires disinfection before being reused. It can be disinfected with any appropriate cold disinfection agent that is not corrosive to plastics or metals. Ensure that the thermocouple is thoroughly rinsed in fresh water after disinfection. Allow to air dry.
