Application
Ten20 Conductive Paste is suitable for EEG Examinations, Sleep Diagnostics, Evoked Potential Procedures, Audiology and Biofeedback and many other applications. As it is not water-based it is also suitable for LTM (Long-term electroencephalographic monitoring), as will not dissolve as easily as water-based pastes and gels.
Application Procedure
- Prep the skin of the subject with and abrasive product such as NuPrep.
- Place an appropriate amount of Ten20 paste inside the cavity of the EEG electrode (may slightly overfill).
- Place the Ten20 filled electrode onto the prepared subject's skin and apply medium pressure.
- Use either tape or a piece of gauze to fix the electrode in place.
Application Notes
- Avoid eye contact. If Ten20 is introduced in the eye, rinse with warm water for 10 to 15 minutes. Avoid
rubbing the eyes. - Use topically on intact skin only. Do not use on or near open wounds or compromised skin.
- Use additional caution on patients with a history of skin allergies or sensitivity to cosmetics and lotions. If rash, redness, itch, swelling, or abnormality appears on skin, wash off immediately.
- Patients' tolerance for topical products varies widely. Some patients poorly tolerate adhesives, abrasives, conductive
media, and salts. Respond to any complaint that may signal product intolerance. - Instruct patients to communicate any persistent redness, soreness or swelling at the electrode site. Topical infections can leave permanent scars if left untreated.
- Long term electrode sites must be checked for irritation and redness at least daily by removing the electrode and evaluating the skin condition under the electrode.
- Do not use with current-inducing electrodes.
