lic2® Electrode Cream

lic2® Electrode Cream is an alternative product to EC2 paste from Grass. lic2® Electrode Cream is a self-adhesive cream and ensures accurate recordings. This electrode cream is to be used with gold cup electrodes and optimized to provide low impedance (< 5k Ohm) and easy placement of electrodes. This cream is to be used for Evoked Potentials (EP), ERP, long-term EEG monitoring and sleep research (PSG). A package contains 1 x 100g tubes.

After the examination, the patient will thank you for the properties it contains to make it easier to remove and those same properties make it particularly suitable for long-term EEG examinations.

Application Note

This product is suitable for LTM (Long-term electroencephalographic monitoring), as it is not water-based and will not dissolve as easily.

First, prep the skin of the subject with the use of skin preparation gel (e.g. Nuprep). Then take a cup electrode, apply lic2® Electrode Cream and place the cup electrodes at the intended location. After the recording/application, lic2® Electrode Cream should be soaked and wiped off with a damp cloth.

lic2® Electrode Cream is not intended for use in the facial area.

lic2® Electrode Cream should not come into contact with open wounds or rashes, or over swollen, red, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruption, e.g., phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins.

lic2® Electrode Cream is isotonic with the skin but its application, especially prolonged contact (more than 10 hours), can occasionally (0.1 to 1%) lead to temporary adverse events such as allergic reactions, skin irritations, or hypersensitivity. The use of Ag/AgCl adhesive electrodes is recommended for hypersensitive or allergic subjects.
