DTL Electrode, sterile, with 6cm silver thread for ERG applications. DTL electrode comes with a 15cm cable and 1.5mm touch-proof (TP) DIN female connector. 10 DTL electrodes per pack.

These DTL (Dawson, Trick, and Litzkow) Electrodes come with a 6cm long silver thread and are packed sterile. They come pre-assembled with a 15cm connection cable which terminates in a 1.5mm touch-proof (TP) DIN female connector. 10 DTL sterile electrodes per pack.

DTL electrodes are designed to be used for Electroretinography (ERG) applications. One of the main advantages of the DTL electrode is comfort when wearing compared to conventional ERG electrodes, such as contact lens electrodes or gold foil electrodes.

Features

  • Very low impedance, cornea atraumaticity and no need of local anaesthetic
  • Adhesive discs to firmly keep the fibers and have a good adhesiveness on the patient's skin
  • Siliconized PET support liner

Technical Specifications

  • Biocompatible: Yes
  • Wire length: 65mm
  • Cable length: 150mm
  • Connector: DIN 1.5mm touch-proof (TP) socket (female connector)
  • Electrode wire: Ag (Silver)
  • Lead wire: Cu/Sn (Copper/Tin) with PVC jacket

Application Note

Positioning the silver wire of the DTL electrode on the cornea tends to be the most optimal location, as it tends to deliver the highest ERG signal amplitude. Moving the silver wire of the DTL electrode toward the fornix tends to decrease the amplitude of the ERG signal. Despite these differences in amplitudes, the latest ISCEV standard does not advise which DTL position should be used. The most common DTL positions are the lower lid position (LLP) and the fornix position (FP).

Application Instructions

  1. Instruct the patient to close their eye.
  2. Clean and degrease the patient's skin around the eye (to the left and right of the lateral and medial commissure).
  3. Attach the two foam patches of the DTL electrode to the left and right of the lateral and medial commissure.
  4. Instruct the patient to open their eye and look upwards.
  5. Position the silver wire of the DTL electrode right above the fornix.
  6. Ensure good contact between the silver wire and the eye.
  7. Check the signal quality and adjust the DTL electrode as needed.
