EC2+ Electrode Cream

The EC2+ Electrode Cream from Natus Medical is the successive product of the EC2 paste from Grass. EC2+ Electrode Cream is a self-adhesive paste ensuring accurate recordings thanks to its high conductivity. This electrode paste is to be used with gold cup electrodes and optimized to provide low impedance (< 5k Ohm) and easy placement of electrodes. This cream is to be used for Evoked Potentials (EP), ERP, long-term EEG monitoring and sleep research (PSG). A package contains 10 x 100g tubes.

Why is EC2+ better than its predecessor the EC2? Compared to other common electrode pastes, EC2+ has significantly improved electrode impedance. EC2+ Electrode Paste is also more resistant to body temperature and perspiration. Further, EC2+ has enhanced properties that make it easier to remove and those same properties make it particularly suitable for long-term EEG examinations.

Application

This product is suitable for LTM (Long-term electroencephalographic monitoring), as it is not water-based and will not dissolve as easily.

First, prep the skin of the subject with the use of skin preparation gel (e.g. Nuprep). Then take a cup electrode, apply EC2+ Electrode Paste and place the cup electrodes at the intended location.
