NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable for perfect synchrony between the ActiveTwo BioSemi and the LIGHTNIRS (Shimadzu Corporation). Splitter comes configured with a D-Sub 9 (male), a D-Sub 25 (male), and a D-Sub 37 (male) connector. Cable length 2m (each cable).

This NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable allows an accurate synchronisation between the ActiveTwo from BioSemi and the LIGHTNIRS system from Shimadzu Corporation. The NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable comes configured with one D-Sub 9 (male) for LIGHTNIRS from Shimadzu Corporation, one D-Sub 25 (male) for the stimulus presentation computer, and one D-Sub 37 (male) connector for the ActiveTwo from BioSemi.

The NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable has two distinct features. Firstly, it is able to timely synchronize the LIGHTNIRS system from Shimadzu Corporation with the ActiveTwo from BioSemi with two SYNC (synchronization) lines. Secondly, it allows for sending 8-bit trigger markers from a stimulus presentation computer to the ActiveTwo EEG system. After the NIRS and EEG data sets have been recorded, both datasets are loaded into the BDF Merger software from BioSemi to create one single and fully time-synchronous NIRS-EEG dataset.

The length of the NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable is 2m of each cable. One NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable per pack.

Features

  • Provides highly accurate synchrony of the LIGHTNIRS (Shimadzu Corporation) and ActiveTwo (BioSemi)
  • Allows for sending 8-bit trigger markers from a stimulus presentation computer
  • Multi-purpose trigger cable with flexible use
  • All lines wired according to the LIGHTNIRS (Shimadzu Corporation) and ActiveTwo (BioSemi) cable configuration

Application Note

The NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable connects only to the LIGHTNIRS system, no other NIRS system from Shimadzu Corporation.

Cable Pinout

This NIRS-EEG Synchronisation Y-Splitter Cable for the LIGHTNIRS system from Shimadzu Corporation follows a special pinout with the following configuration.

The D-Sub 25 (male) connector follows the standard pinout of the Centronics LPT pinout, whereas 8-bit trigger markers are sent on pins 2-9 and pin 25 is used as GND (ground).

The D-Sub 37 (male) connector follows the pinout of the ActiveTwo USB Receiver, whereas 8-bit trigger markers are sent on pins 1-8, pins 15 and 16 are SYNC lines reserved for synchronizing the LIGHTNIRS with the ActiveTwo, and pin 37 is used as GND (ground).

The D-Sub 9 (male) connector follows the standard pinout of the LIGHTNIRS digital input port, whereas pins 1 and 2 are SYNC lines reserved for synchronizing the LIGHTNIRS with the ActiveTwo, and pin 6 is used as GND (ground).
