Due to parts limitations and stringent Supply Chain Demands, AD-boxes (Serial Numbers older than ADC16 - shown at the bottom of the ActiveTwo EEG Box) can't be upgraded to a new Top+housing - replace with an ActiveThree.
NEUROSPEC AG offers a complete upgrade service of an existing BioSemi ActiveTwo MKII to version MKIII. This upgrade includes the replacement of the entire AD-Box housing, the exchange of electrode set SCSI connectors from MKII to MKIII, and 1 x CMS/DRL electrode set (pin type).
Please note: nothing else will be replaced (unless requested), i.e. you will keep the USB Receiver (whichever version you use) and caps.
ActiveTwo MKIII Upgrade Service from NEUROSPEC AG is a comprehensive overhaul and upgrade service for existing ActiveTwo EEG systems from BioSemi - especially if the customer wishes to purchase a lot of older style Electrodes that still are fitted with the MKII connectors. Owners of an ActiveTwo with MKII SCSI sockets are strongly advised to upgrade to an ActiveTwo with MKIII SCSI sockets since electrode sets with MKII connectors are slowly phasing out. This upgrade service includes everything needed to bring your ActiveTwo up to speed with the latest connectivity, unless you want to completely upgrade to the latest ActiveThree MKIII EEG System just launched.
The new ActiveTwo AD-box lid from BioSemi has slimmer SCSI sockets, with now colourful labelling for easy identification of the corresponding electrode set. Furthermore, these new SCSI sockets will prevent rusting, limit gel bridges, increase subject safety and offer enhanced functionalities.
The new electrode sets no longer have CMS/DRL integrated into the electrode set A. An external CMS/DRL electrode set needs to be connected to CMS/DRL socket on the front panel of the ActiveTwo MKIII. Hence, this upgrade service includes one external CMS/DRL pin type electrode set (more CMS/DRL sets can be ordered alongside).
This ActiveTwo MKIII Upgrade Service is exclusively provided by NEUROSPEC AG. It includes upgrading and exchanging the following parts:
- Replacement of the entire housing of the ActiveTwo AD-box includes:
- New colour-coded top and bottom lid
- New slim SCSI sockets
- New EXG electrode keyhole sockets
- Replacement of PCB (electronic board) that holds the SCSI connectors and keyhole dual touch-proof connectors
- Replacement of SCSI connectors with adapted Set labelling (cable will be shorter by 3-5cm). The following amount of electrode set(s) will be modified to include the new MKIII SCSI connector and is included in the cost:
- 1x SCSI MKIII Connector / each set for 32 Channels (A Set)
- 1x SCSI MKIII Connector / each set for 64 Channels (A+B Sets)
- 1x SCSI MKIII Connector / each set for 128 Channels (ABCD Sets)
- 1x SCSI MKIII Connector / each set for 256 Channels (ABCDEFGH Sets)
- Any additional set which needs to be modified will be charged the same as a repair of a set (see Active Electrode Repair Order)
- Replacement of all colour-coded labels identifying that electrode set.
- Cleaning and disinfection of the system's interior and exterior.
- Assembly of the new AD-Box and complete testing of the new ActiveTwo MKIII system.
- 1 x external CMS/DRL set (pin type).
- All costs for labor, tools, and consumables for completing the repair service.
Conditions
The BioSemi ActiveTwo must still be in working condition and not defective since this is an upgrade and not a repair. The following conditions must be met:
- The customer places an electrode order, and wants the new electrodes with newly fitted and up to date SCSI connectors.
- The customer wishes to not trade-in the ActiveTwo system and not upgrade to a new ActiveThree.
- The ActiveTwo must be fully functional.
- The ActiveTwo serial number of the AD-Box, which is found on the bottom of the device, shows ADC16 or newer. Please make sure to fill in the serial number(s) when ordering this upgrade.
- Electrode sets must be no older than 3 years. These electrodes are easily identifiable by the red strain rubber relief around the electrode chassis. The serial number of the electrode set must start with FR20 or newer.
- Electrode sets must not be brittle
- Electrode sets must not be defective (or else add an Electrode Repair Order, see below).
- Electrode sets must be untangled and cleaned before being sent to NEUROSPEC AG.
- No matter of age, the ActiveTwo AD-box and electrode sets must be in good condition before returning.
All the above conditions must be fully met for us to perform a seamless upgrade. Please send us an email, if any of the above is unclear and needs further clarification. Again, we strongly urge customers wanting to move forward, to rather trade the older ActiveTwo towards a new ActiveThree in and so get advantage of all the new features.
Upgrade Features
You will benefit from the following features when upgrading your ActiveTwo MKII to an ActiveTwo MKIII:
- Eliminating the possibility of a shutdown due to gel bridges, that may have built up on your AD-Box top lid.
- No more rusty SCSI connectors which led to intermittent faults or shutdown of the system.
- New SCSI and keyhole connectors for increased safety and grip.
- Years of availability and support of new type MK3 SCSI connectors.
- Extended warranty for up to one year on replaced parts (electrode sets exempted).
