BioSemi Active Electrode Set (MK2, ActiveTwo)

The Active Electrode Set MK2 from BioSemi can only be used with ActiveTwo EEG systems.

Active Electrodes Sets MK2 terminate in a 68-pole SCSI connector. Each set contains 32 pin type sensors with sintered Ag/AgCl tip and an integrated low-noise CMOS pre-amplifier with a two-wire design. The standard cable length is 140cm. The electrode pellet colour on the MK2 Active Electrode Set is green.

Active electrodes from BioSemi integrate an impedance converter inside the electrode itself, ensuring low-noise measurements free of interference and without any skin preparation. BioSemi active sensor electrodes can only be used with BioSemi amplifiers including the ActiveTwo and ActiveThree. Active sensor electrodes can be used for various biosignal acquisition applications including EEG, EMG, ECG, and EOG. These electrodes are pin type electrodes and fit in BioSemi EEG cap electrode holders. Electrode sets come rubberized for strain relief to avoid kinking.

One Active Electrode Set MK2 for ActiveTwo Systems from BioSemi per pack. The A-Set and B-Set active electrode is labelled with either standard 10-20 or ABCD labels (please select). From the C-Set to H-Set, only ABCD labelling is available. Additional CMS/DRL option is available on the A-Set.

Instruction for Use

1. Place BioSemi EEG cap on the subject's head and align it according to protocol.
2. Insert conductive electrolyte gel (e.g., SIGNA gel) into EEG electrode holders on the EEG cap.
3. Plug the SCSI connector of the active electrode set MK2 into the AD-Box of the ActiveTwo EEG system.
4. Allocate the first electrode on the active electrode set MK2.
5. Allocate the corresponding EEG location on the cap.
6. Plug active electrode into the corresponding EEG electrode holder.
7. Repeat for the remaining EEG electrodes of that same electrode set.
8. Connect the ActiveTwo to the acquisition computer.
9. Turn the ActiveTwo system on.
10. Start ActiView and navigate to the Offsets tab.
11. Check the electrode offsets and add extra gel where necessary.
