BSPM Active ECG Electrode Strips

These Active BSPM (body surface potential map) electrode strips from BioSemi are created to be used with the ActiveTwo system. Electrode strips are made from a flexible rubber strip with integrated carbon electrodes and a preamplifier sealed in a waterproof resin.

BSPM active ECG electrode strips come in different strip (panel) layouts:

• 2x11 + 1x10 (32 channels) Layout: includes two strips with 11 active electrodes and 1 strip with 10 active electrodes. The inter-electrode distance of each strip is 30mm.
• 2x12 (24 channels) Layout: includes two strips with 12 active electrodes. The inter-electrode distance of each strip is 30mm.
• 2x12 + 1x8 (32 channels) Layout: includes two strips with 12 active electrodes and 1 strip with 8 active electrodes. The inter-electrode distance of the 2x12 strips is 30mm and the distance of the 1x8 strip is 45mm.
• 2x12 + 1x8 (32 channels) Short Layout: includes two strips with 12 active electrodes and 1 strip with 8 active electrodes. The inter-electrode distance of each strip is 30mm (short version only!).
• 2x8 (16 channels) Layout: includes two strips with 8 active electrodes. The inter-electrode distance of each strip is 45mm.
• 4x8 (32 channels) Layout: includes four strips with 8 active electrodes. The inter-electrode distance of each strip is 45mm.
• 4x8 (32 channels) Short Layout: includes four strips with 8 active electrodes. The inter-electrode distance of each strip is 30mm (short version only!).

Together with the ActiveTwo AD-box these strips form a complete BSPM system with up to 195 ECG channels with 59 spare channels for extra electrodes or auxiliary sensors. Choosing different combinations results in a variety of possible electrode layouts.

This effectively makes the ActiveTwo the only 24-bit, true DC, 195-channel, battery-powered BSPM system available.

Electrode tips are made of sintered Ag/AgCl and the electrode cables are made of carbon wires. Electrode cables are 100% invisible under X-Ray. The electrodes' active pre-amplifiers are integrated into the junction of the strip.

Instruction for Use

1. Open and untangle a BSPM panel strip and lay it on a flat surface with the electrodes facing up.
2. Apply double adhesive rings around every sintered Ag/AgCl electrode. Ensure you do not remove the liner.
3. Apply conductive gel (e.g., SIGNA gel) with a syringe into the cavity of each electrode.
4. Remove the liner from the double adhesive ring.
5. Stick each BSPM strip at the dedicated location on your subject's torso.
